One of the most important points in keeping your WINIX Air Purifier running at is best is maintenance cleaning & regular filter replacement. We often get asked about this in person, so we thought that we’d put together an easy-to-use air purifier cleaning guide to help you get the most out of your machine over the long haul!
Always remember to pay special attention to your replacement filter indicator. Through regular use, your filter should last you for about a years time. Once this time is up and your replacement filter indicator light comes on, it is very important to replace your filter for effective ongoing air purification. For more check out our replacement filter post here.
These replacement filters are available (with free delivery) on our filters page.
Maintenance Cleaning of your Winix Air Purifier
Every week or two, we recommend giving your air purifier a good clean for maximum effectiveness. It is essential that you regularly check and clean your pre-filter, as below.
Step 1: Remove the outer casing of your air-purifier
Step 2: Remove the filter cartridge from within the air-purifier
Step 3: Give the fan vents on top and inside of the air-purifier a wipe with a damp cloth to remove any dirt/dust build up
Step 4: Unclip the ‘Pre-Filter’ from your filter cartridge pack
Step 5: Give the ‘Pre-Filter’ a good clean with your vacuum (or every now & then give it a wash with clean water)
Step 6: Vacuum the dust sensors and interior fan vents to remove any excess dust
Step 7: Clip your ‘pre-filter’ back into place in your filter cartridge pack & then return into the machine, just as it was when you first removed it.
*If you have cleaned your pre-filter with water, make sure to dry it completely before putting it back into the machine
Special notes:
• The above guide is intended for Ausclimate’s WINIX Ultimate 5-Stage Air Purifier
For Ausclimate's WINIX 4-Stage Air-Purifiers, regular cleaning of the pre-filter is even easier because it is not actually attached to the other filters. Just remove as above, quick clean and return to the machine. It’s that easy.
For both models, never clean or submerge your HEPA filter in water, only the pre-filter!
